Royal Canadian Sea Cadets learn about the naval and maritime environment by participating in a variety of activities on and off the water.

  • Citizenship (Parades, Community Events),
  • Marksmanship & Competitions
  • Sports & Fitness
  • First Aid Training
  • Naval Knowledge & Leadership Training

Summer Training (Summer Camps)

Sea Cadets can apply to attend a Summer Training Centre for up to eight weeks each summer. Operated by DND, these Training Centres (camps) provide cadets the opportunity to further develop the skills they learn at their home corps as well as opportunities to see different parts of Canada and meet other youth from across the country. Summer Training offered to Sea Cadets includes:

  • General Training (2 week Introductory Course)
  • Basic Seamanship (3 week courses)
  • Basic Drill and Ceremonial (3 week courses)
  • Band (3 and 6 week courses)
  • Sail (3 and 6 week courses)
  • Boatswain’s Mate (6 week course)
  • Drill and Ceremonial Instructor (6 week course)
  • Sail Instructor (6 week course)

Not only are summer camps free to attend (including meals, transportation and uniforms), but cadets may be provided a training bonus. This ensure that no youth is excluded because of financial circumstance.
